Persian & Silk Rug Cleaning — Handled with Expertise
Persian and silk rugs are among the most valuable textiles in any home. They deserve a cleaner who understands their construction, respects their dyes, and uses the right process — not a carpet cleaning truck.
Dye Tested First
Every color checked for bleed risk before cleaning begins.
Hand Washed
No machine agitation — only gentle hand-washing for fine rugs.
Sheen Preserved
Low-moisture silk drying maintains the natural luster and softness.
All Origins & Constructions
Persian & Silk Rugs We Clean
Persian Rugs
Hand-knotted in Iran with centuries of tradition — we clean Tabriz, Isfahan, Kashan, Heriz, and all major Persian origins.
Oriental Rugs
Turkish, Afghan, Chinese, and Indian hand-knotted rugs cleaned with the same care as their Persian counterparts.
Pure Silk Rugs
Silk is the most delicate rug fiber. We use low-moisture techniques and hand-finishing to preserve the sheen and softness.
Silk & Wool Blend
Many fine Persian rugs use silk highlights in a wool foundation — we treat each fiber appropriately in the same cleaning.
Antique & Collectible Rugs
Pre-1900 and collectible rugs receive our most conservative approach — dye tested, hand-washed, and air-dried.
Tribal & Nomadic Rugs
Qashqai, Bakhtiari, Baluch, and other tribal pieces with natural dyes require careful pH management.
Our Method
Our Fine Rug Cleaning Process
Six careful steps — every one designed to protect your investment.
Dye Stability Testing
Before any water touches the rug, we test every color for bleed risk. This step is non-negotiable for Persian and silk rugs.
Dry Soil Removal
Mechanical dusting removes embedded grit that would otherwise act as an abrasive during the wash — critical for delicate pile.
Hand Washing
We hand-wash using dye-safe, pH-appropriate solutions — never machine agitation, which stresses knots and distorts the foundation.
Controlled Rinse
Multiple rinses ensure all cleaning agents are fully removed, preventing residue that dulls the sheen of silk and fine wool.
Flat Drying
Rugs are dried flat to prevent distortion. Silk is dried at low temperature to preserve its natural luster.
Pile Grooming & Inspection
Fringe is cleaned and straightened, pile is groomed, and the rug is inspected under good light before return.

Persian & Silk Rug Cleaning — FAQ
How much does Persian rug cleaning cost?
Persian rug cleaning starts at $3.00 per square foot. Silk rugs start at $4.00 per square foot. Free pickup and delivery is always included.
Can silk rugs be wet cleaned?
Yes, but only with low-moisture techniques and careful temperature control. Silk is extremely sensitive to heat and over-wetting. We use specialized methods designed specifically for silk fiber.
How do you prevent dye bleeding in Persian rugs?
We test every color for dye stability before cleaning begins. If any color shows bleed risk, we adjust our process — using lower moisture, faster rinsing, or color-safe additives — to prevent migration.
How long does Persian rug cleaning take?
Most Persian and silk rugs are returned within 7–10 days. Fine rugs require more time for careful drying and inspection.
Do you clean antique Persian rugs?
Yes — antique and collectible rugs receive our most conservative approach. We test dyes, hand-wash with minimal moisture, and air-dry flat to prevent any distortion.
